Answer brief
The questions behind the search.
Start with the answer that fits your concern. Then follow it to the more detailed briefing.
Is peptide therapy a single treatment?
No. The word peptide means a short chain of the small parts used to build proteins. It does not name one treatment.
As of September 26, 2026, US drug law does not give ‘peptide therapy’ its own approval category.
Understand the medicine namesIs a custom-made medicine approved?
Compounding means making a medicine to order.
These medicines had no approval from FDA on September 26, 2026. FDA is a US agency responsible for reviewing medicines.
A patient’s medical need may call for one when approved products cannot meet that need. FDA does not review these medicines before marketing.
Read the compounding briefingCan a visit from home lead to a prescription?
Sometimes. Arizona’s rule, checked October 3, 2026, does not require an in-person examination for every remote prescription.
The person prescribing must examine you properly, have permission under their licence to prescribe, and follow Arizona and federal rules for that drug. A home visit alone does not establish that a particular prescription is allowed. Ask which Arizona board can confirm the person’s permission.
Ask whether remote care is suitable for your concern.

Ask for the treating person’s name and profession, and for the pharmacy supplying the medicine. A licence is permission to practise that profession; a pharmacy permit is permission to operate.
MD and DO are two kinds of doctors; DO stands for doctor of osteopathic medicine. A physician assistant, or PA, has a separate professional licence. Arizona has a different board search for each of these professions. Ask the matching board whether that person can prescribe your medicine.
Arizona’s Nursing Board has checks for nursing licences and certificates for extra roles such as nurse practitioner. A nurse practitioner has further training in how to assess patients and provide treatment. Ask the board to confirm prescribing permission; a basic nursing licence alone does not answer that question.
Follow the Arizona checksDoes Medicare pay for weight-care medicine?
Ordinary Part D, the Medicare drug benefit, continued to exclude weight-loss medicines on September 26, 2026.
For prescriptions used to treat type 2 diabetes or certain heart risks, ordinary Part D may pay under the plan’s rules. For the heart-risk example, the aim is to lower the chance of a heart attack or stroke. It applies to adults who have existing disease of the heart or blood vessels plus obesity or overweight.
For weight loss, the temporary Medicare GLP-1 Bridge is a different option. The rules checked September 26, 2026, let eligible adults pay $50 each month for a supply of certain medicines. Its start date is July 1, 2026, and its end date is December 31, 2027. One way to qualify is a BMI of 35 or more; BMI compares weight with height. Lower BMI levels need specified health conditions, and plan and past-coverage rules also apply. The payment briefing explains those checks.
Eligibility and payment are not automatic.
